Prevention
Of course, the best way to prevent throwing injury is to never throw! That is NOT the goal here at SafeThrow. Instead, we will work with you to allow for safe overhead throwing for as long as you wish to play. There are exercises to condition the muscles of the arm. There are stretching regimens to maintain the correct tone in the ligaments and tendons of the arm. There are movements that are known to damage the arm which should be avoided.
At SafeThrow, we can show you the exercises to strengthen and coordinate muscles. We can show you stretching as well. There is one particlur stretch that is very simple to do, and is very helpful in preventing serious conditions. We can analyze a thrower's motion and make improvements which will make the thrower's motion safer and more effective. We can train a thrower to any degree he or she desires in order to improve throwing speed, accuracy, and endurance.
Please see the next section, Screening, for details on all of this and how to arrange to have your player, team or whole league become involved in this process.
